You couldn’t have made recent headlines up. Poor lib dems. First Charles Kennedy, then that gay rent boy habit, there’s Menzies Campbell generally, which has the unfortunate habit of giving the whole party the air of a nursing home, and now Lembit Opik, weak-chinned ‘wild-man’ of the Liberal Democrats, is dating one of the pair responsible for bringing us THAT song. By the way, the British press must be congratulated for somehow putting in parentheses the words ‘touch my bum’ every time the lovers are referred to. What a mid-life crisis.

Either that, or Chris Morris has been making all the headlines up of late. He *must* have been responsible for the Bishop of Southwark affair, which would not have looked out of place on Brass Eye. Life imitating art!

Hmmm - I don’t think I get the ‘touch my bum’ line. Something from a Cheeky song?

It IS amusing that this is happening to the Lib Dems - perhaps their perpetual exile from power and influence means that they’re not as assiduous in their impression management as New Labour used to be and New Tories currently are.

You have to admit Lembit’s buffoonery is pretty amusing - they certainly are an odd couple, but why not? The Romanian mother slagging off Sian Lloyd - priceless.
